Inspired by her accomplished elder sister, Blanche Starhope is determined to be known for more than her looks. When she has the opportunity to visit her literary cousin in Oxford, she brings along her dour maid, Velma, as a companion. Unfortunately, when the cousin is called out of town, Blanche is faced with a dilemma; she yearns to see the sights, but if she remains in Oxford unchaperoned, word might get back to her father. Against Velma’s objections, Blanche dresses her as a lady and Blanche dons a disguise as her maid. As they take in all that Oxford has to offer, they attract two of the most handsome—and exceedingly inappropriate—men they’ve ever met.
